Great! I will show this to the students today in class – its gives them a great idea about where your class and school is, because we really didn’t know. Our next lot of classroom questions about school and Canada are coming today so this is an excellent start for students. Thank you very much.

Thank you for commenting on my blog. It was very fun making this slide show. By the way, some other people will be putting slideshows on their blogs. Thanks. Quinn from Hafford Saskatchewan.
Quinn our students have some questions to ask you about Canada we’ve completed a brainstorm and other than what you showed us, and the teachers driving down the road (which was wonderful) we don’t really know a whole lot of information of Canada. Our students this week brainstormed the ten important questions that we want to know about Canada and hopefully you’ll be able to answer them!
Mr Webb and Room 8, Melville Intermediate, Hamilton, New Zealand.
Quinn. These are some questions about Canada that we have as we in New Zealand are researching your country and school.
1. Do you come across wild animals on the road?
2. What is the capital city of Canada?
3. It is always snowy in Canada?
4. Is it true that people use rackets to walk over snow and ice?
5. Does your school play Ice Hockey?
6. Do you have any sky fileds?
7. Does Canada have famous landmarks?
8. Do you have any beaches?
9. Whats the most popular sport in Canada?
10. DO you have any animal problems at your school?
11. Is this blog a school blog?
12. Do you have a big library at your school?
Kaleb G, Room 8, Melville Intermediate, Hamilton, New Zealand.
I guess I’ll start with number 1
1. Yes. We do come across wild animals on the road such as porcupines(pronounced porkypines), deer, moose, muskrats and animals that live in the trees like squirrels and birds.
2. The capitol city of Canada is Ottawa.
3. No and yes it is not always snowy in Canada but we have more winter months than summer months. Also in northern Canada it stays snowy forever
4. Well it is true but it isn’t very popular where we live. In northern Canada the Inuit ( pronounced In you it) use snowshoes and live in houses made of snow called igloos.
5. In our school we don’t have a ice hockey rink but a recesses there is always a hockey game. In Hafford we have a Communiplex that has an ice rink and our towns team is called the Mustangs.
6. Could you please tell me what sky fileds are because I do not know what they are.
7. Yes Canada has a few famous landmarks and a lot of regular ones. here are some examples. The CN tower, Canada olympic park, West Edmonton mall, Vancouver aquarioum, Montreal olympic stadium, Skylon tower, Pier 21 and H.R. Macmillian Space Centre.
8. Yeswe do have beaches but in Saskatchewan we don’t have beaches by oceans. For example is Redberry lake.( It isn’t very far from Hafford.) But we also have beaches on the coasts of oceans.
9. The most popular sport in Canada is Hockey but Canada’s national sport is La cross.
10. We don’t have many major animal problems at our school. The worst we had is a cat or dog.
11. This blog is just for grade sixes. (Like Me!) Our teacher just got this blog this year.
12. No we do not have a big library at our school but we do have one. When we were in like grade 4 we would go to the downtown library which is bigger than the school library.
P.S. By the way I could post some pictures of some animals ond landmarks on my blog. Also feel free to ask more questions.
